Ok I hope someone can answer this one. I have my checking account with a credit union and also a visa with them. I couldn't afford the visa payment so didn't pay it. Didn't realize that they could just take it. In early Jan they took what I owed on the visa to catch it up from my checking account but didn't close my credit card. Since I couldn't afford for them to take that money (I needed diapers and formula) I transferred it right back into my checking account. Is this going to hurt me as a balance transfer in the last 70 days? It sucks because the only reason I needed to do a balance transfer was because they took it unexpectedly and I needed it to live on. Since my attorney wants me to wait till after filing my taxes to file it may end up being 70 days anyway but I'm not sure. I did tell my attorney I did this and he didn't bat an eye and didn't say anything about 70 days wait. It was about $175. Now that I'm thinking about it is it considered a cash advance since I put it into a checking account and then it's 90 days but I can file before them and if they fight it just have to pay it.
