    Asset Limbo

I'm going to go crazy over this. Our 341 was Dec. 9 and the trustee said then that he might keep it open and get an appraisal on our truck and a trailer. Since then we haven't heard a peep.

I talked to our attny. office today and the girl said it was still open but our discharge was est. to be Feb 9. I asked her when we would hear if it was asset or not and she said there was no way to tell.

I was wondering if any other asset cases would share their experience. The hardest part for me in all this is the not knowing. I just can't stand not knowing if we are going to be called up and told to bring in our truck tomorrow and then not have anything to use for work and moving. This stinks.

How long do they take to determine if you have assets or not? Is this normal? Good grief I hope it is. How long before asset cases usually hear something or get closed. I thought we would at least have heard something or had to do the appraisal by now.

    thanks.

have you looked in pacer yourself to see if it's an asset case?

No, but she seemed to look it up while I was there today. I hate to sign up for Pacer. I don't want another bill and I'm afraid I'd drive myself nuts checking it all the time. lol. Maybe I should just bite the bullet and do it anyway.

well there is a little trick
look at your status after that that iink will be high lighted unless there is a change so you can look and it will not cost you anything

          It depends

It will depend on your trustee. The night of our 341, we were changed to an asset case (Which I saw was on Pacer)

If you don't use PACER much, and the bill is less than $10 a quarter, then they do not charge you. I was checking 2 - 3 times a week, and our case had a lot of activity and documents filed. My first bill was under $20 for the quarter. (The second bill will be a different story, 'cause I screwed up and did a query for my trustee which cost me $50 bucks!) Be careful what you search.

You can get away without spending much, but still know whats going on.
