    Colorado Exemption Question

I'm very confused with the Colorado exemption for "Household goods." It is listed as $3000, but I'm having a hard time finding out if I can double this.

Is there anyone out there who has claimed more than $3000 as a couple or has been told by their lawyer that this is acceptable?

$3000 sounds pretty generous, but my wife and I are separated and living in two places, so the $3000 is a bit tight.

P.S. If you are getting your insight from NOLO, so am I, and I've found a few things that didn't jive with the actual laws, so I'm trying to get additional verification.

    hello joe

    from http://www.boulderbankruptcy.com/col...xemptions.html

The amount of the exemptions are doubled when a married couple files together, with the single exception of the homestead exemption. The homestead exemption is $60,000 even if you file as a married couple.

so that means if you're filing together, then $6000 for household goods.
