BK Trustee Research Prior to 341

I've been wondering, what kind of research is conducted by the trustee in preperation of the 341?

I'm assuming, the trustee at least reviews the petition of course, but what I was wondering is if he/she does a full scale background check to find what kind of assets you have like cars, checking accounts, prior lawsuits, etc.

It probably depends on the district, trustee, and case.

Reasonable research they may conduct includes:

Criminal Background Check
Title Search
Credit Check

this is interesting. Although it may not apply across the board, I would be interested in hearing stories.

They will also check the corp records filed with the state to see what you own or have owned. Mine did.

Every one is different

Some are very debtor friendly even though it is their job to get money back for the creditors. Some are very creditor friendly and will cause much grief. If you know in advance who it is... ask your attorney what they think. They will usually have a feeling or past experiences with them and be able to prepare you.

Don't really think that trustees do anything before the 341 hearing. Most of their "investigations" (snooping) are conducted after the 341 hearing.

BK trustees are human, like most us, they won't even look at your petition until the day before the 341 meeting?
