Does anyone know of a good attorney in Jacksonville, FL that is affordable and knows what they are doing? I consulted with one but they were $1500 plus court fee's. I'm not sure if this is the going rate or so.

I have already sent one, but will be sending a second PM momentarily."To go bravely forward is to invite a miracle."

Get at least 3 consultations, find someone you are comfortable with. We saw three... two were what I call a BK mill. Thats all they do is Bankruptcy. While at our 341 one of the firms we consulted with (and was highly recommended) but we didn't get a good feeling with BTW... the lawyer was late for the appointment, and when he did show up,unknown to the debtor... was a different lawyer, he didn't know the lawyer he had been dealing with would not be there.
Let's say he wasn't happy. But the meeting went OK.
Be sure to ask how many BK's the lawer has done as well. Many have flat rate fees. Two we talked to charged $1500 for a chapter 7, and $2300 for a chapter 13.
Good Luck.Filed 10/11/08 - 341 11/23/08 - Discharged 1/26/09
