I was in an accident 7 months ago and got behind everywhere. After I filed irs filed general lein and child support pulled my licence. irs lein is for taxes that are 5yrs old so I think I can make that go away. I know that I will have to make up my past due support payments but with no license=no work and I am trying to get back on my feet. Are they able to pull my licence after I file?

My boyfriend is a custodial parent and the other parent rarely pays child support. We do the license suspension thing ourselves on her when it gets past-due enough, and from what we've been told, the ONLY way the license can be reinstated is to either pay the support current, or enter into a written and notarized repayment plan w/ the other parent. However, it varies from state to state -- some states, like FL, will process a suspension after 30 days past due, and others are 6 months.
As you probably know, the child support won't go away in bankruptcy, so I wouldn't think the license could be reinstated due to filing bankruptcy.Chapter 7 Filed: 12/22/08

spoke with dshs, they were really good. Says they didnt get notification of bk so I faxed him a copy and he is reinstating licence. They can't take collection action after filing/before dischargeComment
