How long til C-7 closed?

At what point after a Ch 7 has been discharged will it be closed, and, do you receive something "official" from the court indicating this? We were discharged 10/14/08.

There really is no exact time frame. Ours was a very simple ch.7 everything went along as smooth as silk we were discharged on 8/27/08 yet our closing did not happen until 11/02/08. We did not receive any notice of closing. I learned through Pacer as I was getting antsy waiting for it to happen.
Others close within days of discharge and others months.

We were discharged just a few days after you and still have not closed out. Very frustrating, isn't it?

We filed last winter and discharged in early May and we are STILL not closed!! We were ( and still are on Pacer ) no asset. Our attorney says there isn't a thing we can do but sit and wait. I won't relax until we are discharged and CLOSED!!! I would think that there would be some sort of statute on how long they can leave you in limbo if your no asset.

From other posts I've seen it may just be a slow clerk of the court, or hasn't got the OK from the trustee. Someone recently posted they had actually called the clerk of the court, and there had been a clerical error. Their case was closed later that day. If you used an attorney, you could have them inquire as well.

We were discharged on 11-14-08 in Florida middle bankruptcy court and are still awaiting closing. We were told by our attorney that they are overwhelmed with all the bks taking place in this area and that could be the reason for the delay. We feel like this is a neverending situation. It just keeps going and going........going.........

My case was closed a day after it was discharged. I got a letter from the trustee closing the case about a week latter
