There are 3 credit reporting agencies: TransUnion, Experian & Equifax. I'm not really sure where the FICO score comes into place. When I purchased my last vehicle in May 2008, the dealership naturally pulled my credit report. They showed it to me and it was TransUnion.

Right now on truecredit.com my scores come up:
    TransUnion=707 Experian=685 Equifax=695

When I ran creditkarma.com my score came up 707. It may not be rocket science, but it comes pretty darn close for me.
    Chapter 7 filed 10/21/2008
    341 - 11/26 went smooth NO ASSET
Took 115 days after 341 - But Finally DISCHARGED 3/25/09

I wouldn't touch them with a 10' or longer pole.

      US gov website:

Q: How do I order my free report?
A: The three nationwide consumer reporting companies have set up a central website, a toll-free telephone number, and a mailing address through which you can order your free annual report.

To order, visit annualcreditreport.com, call 1-877-322-8228, or complete the Annual Credit Report Request Form and mail it to: Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281. Do not contact the three nationwide consumer reporting companies individually. They are providing free annual credit reports only through annualcreditreport.com, 1-877-322-8228, and Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281.

But on the free website, they say:

RIGHT TO RECEIVE YOUR CREDIT REPORT
In addition to the free credit score you will receive from Credit Karma, you are allowed to receive one free credit report under the FCRA from each of the three national credit reporting agencies (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion) during any twelve-month period. You may also be able to receive free credit reports as permitted by state law (you may contact your state or local consumer protection agency or state attorney general to learn more about your rights under state law). information on obtaining a free credit report from Experian, Equifax or TransUnion you may contact them directly at www.experian.com, www.equifax.com and www.transunion.com.

Plus, they also have this little gem included in their "Rules"SPECIFIC CONSENTS GRANTED UPON SUBMISSION OF YOUR REGISTRATION FORM:

I further understand that by submitting this registration form I am authorizing Credit Karma, once it has obtained my credit score for me, to retain a copy of such credit score in its records along with the other information I am submitting through this registration form (collectively, the "Registration Profile"), and to use that Registration Profile to match me with product and services offers from time to time from its marketing partners, which offers it will send to me either by e-mail (only if I opt-in via email preferences) or through the display of banner ads. I understand that Credit Karma will not be sharing my Registration Profile with any of those marketing partners and that it is completely up to me to decide whether I would like to accept any of the offers I receive, in which case I would deal directly with the marketing partners at issue.

No effing way am I allowing someone who I don't even know to have my credit score and let them keep a "Copy" of it on file. What with all the email junk I get, like I need more??

Yeah you could, but frankly them keeping a copy of my score (BTW they use only TU for scoring, I looked them up and the founder) isin't something I'd want others to have without VERY good reasons.

One thing some people dont realize is that an auto loan or purchase contract loan uses different formulas than if your applying for a mortgage. an auto loan is considered higher risk, reason being, if someone is struggling, they will generally give up a car before their house . so with a car loan application your score will be generally lower.

So is what "danaf" said true?? Is the score at creditkarma not a true real score?

I think it's your TranUnion score. Mine matched exactly.
