USAA auto loan

    Sinking - you can redeem the car if your loan is more than 910 days old. IF you are able to redeem, you can redeem for actual value (like the $13k) rather than the amount currently owed by you.

    If you loan is not a least 910 days, then you can try to renegotiate your loan balance with the company; however, they usually want you current on the payments when you file Ch 7. If the payment is too high and the lender will not renegotiate, surrender the car. Find something inexpensive until you get back on your feet.

      I have USAA auto ins (and homeowners ins, but I am not keeping the house).....I have NO loans with USAA but they ARE a great company....will my auto ins rated go up due to the fall in my credit score?

        We have USAA auto insurance also and our rates have not gone up after filing Chapter 13 almost three years ago.
