Called lawyer, Says everything fine, just waiting on the court.........

If the lawyer says everthing is fine, then everything is most likely fine. The courts have become somewhat overwhelmed with the increased amount of BK filings.

They are notoriously slow.

My 341 was 8/28 and I am still waiting.

Called lawyer, Says everything fine, just waiting on the court.........

On day 70 I didn't call my useless attorney but I called the Bankruptcy court directly myself on the excellent advice of AngelinaCat.

I had PACER open to check my status one last time before I called and also to have my case number handy. I asked the first person who answered the phone if they could help me and I explained my concern about not having been discharged.

To my amazement, she looked over my case a minute or two and realized what was happening and then she discharged my case right there while I was on the phone!

I hung up the phone and refreshed my PACER screen and I was discharged!

By the time I got home from work that day they had issued my discharge letter and closed my case.
