This morning I went out and grabbed the mail before I sat down and paid bills. I was going through all the mail and there it was, a letter from the court. Not knowing if it was our discharge or bad news, I tore open the envelope with my hands shaking like crazy. I quickly scanned the letter and there that wonderful word was.
My husband had just gotten out of the shower and was drying off. There he was in his birthday suite, and I come running in like a crazy woman waving the letter around. I kept saying, "We're done!" "It is our discharge!" "It's over!" As dryly as possible he says, "So what does that mean?" I can't count the number of times I had explained it to him over the past 4 months. However, he had only been awake for about 10 minutes, so he got a pass. Once it hit him as to what the discharge meant, he joined in my excitement followed by lots of questions.
It is over. Finally. I'm really looking forward to starting fresh and taking steps to make sure we never end up in that boat again. I am so grateful for the second chance.
Thank you all for your great advice and support.
May I have my hamster dance now?
