My means test is at the end of this month. We should be under the means test by a couple thousand. There is now a little overtime at work that I can get. Question;---- is--- can I work some after the means test or should I wait till after the 341. Will anyone want to see a paystub after the means test? thanks

I am bit confused, but I am going to try and answer your question. First off, your income in regards to the means test is the 6 months prior to filing. So, if you are filing in November, then the means test will include from May through October. If you had overtime in November, it would not affect the means test, but it could affect your Schedule I and J, which is based on your current income. After you file, and before your 341, if your income goes up dramatically, that can pose a problem. The trustee usually asks if your income has changed. If he deems it significant, then he could have you file an amended Schedule I (Income), this could throw you into a Chapter 13 (for 36 months, since you passed the means test). So in short, lay low until after your 341, then go overtime crazy.

I'm worried about overtime pay as well. My hubby just started a job 1.5mos ago and he is getting about 20hrs a week of overtime. It still shouldn't make too much of a difference after expenses since the overtime is so highly taxed. Guess I'll see when we get our first check with overtime in it at the end of this month...
