Chapter 7 Paperwork Mistakes

I should receive my paperwork for Chapter 7 no asset to review from attorney on Thursday. I plan to go through every detail of the paper work. I would be interested in hearing about mistakes that people have encountered either before or after they filed for Chapter 7. I have my own thoughts and opinions. However, it does not beat peoples actual experience.

The only mistake that came up on mine was the exclusion of my ex-wife's car loan. I was the co-signer on it originally and although she was listed as a creditor, the bank for the car wasn't. It cost a small fee to fix.

My lawyer did a good job and I didn't notice any errors.

Common errors seem to be when they accidentally leave a creditor off.

Also check income and expenses, make sure someone didn't get two cases mixed up....though rare it has happened before....

My paperwork had some small errors - things like typing "$200" instead of "$100" when valuing some personal items, for example. The biggest error I found was my atty somehow used the payment dates for one account (in the section that showed I made some payments over $600 to some creditors) for another account. I emailed him the correct dates, and presumably he'll resubmit.

Be sure to make sure that what you want reaffirmed so that you will get credit for paying it is reaffirmed.

Mine made numerous mistakes with account numbers so you may want to check that.
