that my lawyer sent to me, filed last week, The schedule J has us negative around $800 a month so hopefully with that and under median income for a household of 5 we should be fine.

How close is the negative on Sched J compared to the negative on the Means Test? Are they both approx -$800? Or is one of them twice as much as the other?
we didn't have to do a means test as he has us as 20k under median income. does that make sense?
Nope.
Since the new Bankruptcy Law of 2005, I believe everyone has to do the Means Test. Chapter 7, yes? It is a form that gets submitted with your chapter 7 petition. Definitely. (Unless I am missing something big here.)
You only do the first part of the means test if you are below median, that is you don't do an itemized expense list since that is part of the second part of the means test.

That makes sense... but there is at least the first part of the Means Test that B65 submits...
you put in your gross income and household size, it tolds us we were under median and not to go any further, so on my file it is schedule J that shows us $800 a month negative.
