Attorney advised advised to keep one car to pass the means.

We want to surrender our 2 cars when we file. After the discharge I guess we would get the car repossed, but wouldn't that look bad on the credit report having a BK and a repossed car?

So long as you do not sign a reaffirmation agreement then after the bk you can walk away from the car without problems. It would be considered IIB and not a separate mark on the credit report. (Even if its a year later).

Basically you'd make your payments through the 341, then drop it after that. Tell them you plan to reaffirm but never sign the paper or file it with the court. (Now if you have Ford they won't let you do this which is known as a walk through)
May 31st, 2007: Petition Filed by my lawyer
    July 2nd, 2007: 341 Meeting Held
September 4th, 2007: Discharged and Closed.

You most likely need the 2 cars expenses to file chapter 7 with out them you may not pass the means test.
