How long after you file does your case show up in Pacer? Also, if the trustee is going to take money out of your bank account does he do it on the day you file?

Oh I thought that if he was going to take your money it happened on the day you filed. My attorney said he was going to file me yesterday but i dont think he did because i am not yet on Pacer. I just noticed that my checking account is overdrafted by $87, is this bad if he files me today? What will happen?

Should I have him wait to file me until next week?

Don't worry about your checking account. When I filled I too was a negative balance. No body is going to "look at" your checking account. File and if you are a no asset case, about a month 341 then 60days, discharge.

Too many big problems are generated by worry over little ones. You will be fine. 'Hub

Thanks Hub, I have just read in other places that if you have a negative balance in your checking account that the bank will freeze it. Has this happened to anyone?

If you have a negative, they sure don't want to freeze your account. They want you to deposit to bring it positive or zero balance. If positive, depending on what kind of institution, they may. I'm with a CU and ours was froze until we reaffirmed our loan there. 'Hub

I moved my direct deposit to a new bank in case my cc company freezes my bank account. Myabe not a valid worry, but I am writing off BOA cc debt attached to a BOA checking account.

Don't worry about the negative balance at all. The real worry would be getting too much money sitting in your bank account

While everything is still nerve wracking at this time, it will all begin to settle down BK is not the end of our lives as we know it!
