make sure to keep gasoline receipts though because thats one thing we never get and our lawyer made sure we asked for gasoline receipts from now on to count for the gasonline expense
Is this a special kind of BK with problems? Why would anyone question gas money? I can see hundreds of dollars being taken out of a bank account or paychecks gone missing, but "every little detail"?

I turned in all my information to my attorney, and so far, he hasn't asked for anything regarding receipts. I suppose it may help expedite matters if there was a creditor objection. Is that what you are preparing for?

It's hard to say why the lawyer is asking for that. I was close to being over means or i should say i was so i documented everything on my bank statements gas, food, cloths. Just guessing that's why the lawyer wants this done. I just did it an easier way I think.

Good question regarding the receipts. Since I was not even thinking BK until this month, I have kept very few receipts before this month, except for major purchases. Also, I tend to get money once, like say $200 at the ATM, and can spend it on everything from lunch/dinner to books to haircuts to weekend entertainment to clothes and more.

I guess it's time to start using the debit card for everything so that it's documented on my bank statements if I don't get an actual receipt.

I kept receipts for bills paid and items bought with money I received from my income tax return just prior to filing. Since it was $5k, I wanted to make sure I kept all of those receipts. I paid my atty with the bulk of it and the rest went towards bills, groceries and gas. It was a good thing I did that too. My Trustee definitely asked for those receipts and I had them neatly clipped together and separated by month.

The Trustee didn't care about any other receipts. I guess she wanted to make sure I didn't have that money stashed under my matress or something.

My lawyer did not mention a word to me about saving receipts... is this for after you file BK or before? Or just before the 341? I am confused...

My attorney specifically said I would not need any receipts. But, if your attorney says differently, I'd go with that.

I asked my attorney if i needed them , and he said no , but I'm concerned ,because, I'm a bit below median for my state , but my rent /mortgage expenses are also lower thn what is allowed for this type of expenses by IRS, so there is a few hundred left , but in reality , after all the other actual expenses i do have during the month ,I'm left with close to nothing at the end of the month, so the money that is left over goes into other things. I was wndering if that could be a problem, and if i needed to collect receipts for all the small purcheses i make like lunches , school lunches, haircuts ,smokes or gas (i drive 600 miles one way to work), so its adding to quite a sum a month really.
