So did I and it totally ruined my life. If I would have stayed on track and got an MBA, I'd most likely be earning a 6-figure income by now and not having to go BK.

Same here... I wasted 10 years of my life growing myself through one company until I ended up in an $80k+ role. Only problem is I never went to college and got myself into a position that required it but since I excelled in every position I had with the company it was not an issue to them. Once the company was bought out by another company I was left jobless and all the experience I had was worthless because I could not get an interview without a degree. This was the starting point of my fall... After a year of not finding a job and wiping through my 401k I started my own business which was probably another bad decision.

Yep, that's pretty much what happened to me. I have not been able to get another good paying job since mid-2002. I've been mostly unemployed all this time. I decided to enroll and go back to college. We plan on foreclosing the house and moving close to my wife's work so that she can also go to school as well. The community college is across the street from her job.

Around $11M mostly from being guarantor on development projects and personal house and equity lines.

                    My 2 cents(all I have)

I owe 67000 in credit card debt. Various banks. Most on one card is 20k goes and then 18k and then 13k so on....

We gross combined 104k per year in CT

Would like to qualify for Chapter 7 but we will see.

My problem was retail therapy for the most part. Target makes me feel better, for a minute and worse for much longer. Yes, I did need another flashlight and it goes on. IF I ever get out of this, I need a serious head shrinker or Debtors Anonymous. Wish me luck.

My problem is I didn't go to College so I worked really hard at my own business and I did make to the 6 figure income, however I wound up in a mess. I wonder if I had went to College maybe I would have been a little smarter at handling my money when I was making a lot.

So far I have 50 people on my list that I plan on turning in to my BK attorney. I have yet to see anyone here posting that kind of volume of creditors.

Actually, I did not think it was a competition. I thought it was to be informative but not exhaustive. I didn't list any of my creditors (only the amount $1M) because my 341 is still continued and this is a public forum. Thank you debtmonster for thinking up the thread, it does give us an idea of the diversity of BK filers, but I think that each of us has a line beyond which we will not disclose.

I am not an attorney. None of my advice is legal advice in any way..

I didn't have that many creditors but our discharge was 150k+.
