I'll break it down a little bit. This is off the top of my head so is not a complete list:

        AT&T Universal MC 36,000.00
        Sears MC 6,000.00
        American General 5,000.00
1st Coast CU 13,000.00 -- not even OUR debt, but we co-signed for an acquaintance to get a car. BAD move.
FPL Utility 1,300.00 -- they gave us this credit post discharge

That is about it as I recall w/o going through the paperwork. Does not include any of the medical from 'Hub's 2004 Prostate cancer surgery, my 8/2007 fall with broken arm and knee, or 'Hub's 11/2007 skil-saw accident resulting in life flight and emergency surgery. Nor does it include any of the legal fees acrrued defending ourselves against our Enemy.

Yes, that is some very serious relief!

For the first time in nearly a year, I can already start to feel the stress levels go down as we are starting to stop paying many of our bills. We are fighting less as we will start to have money in the bank to buy food for once.

It's funny when your in the middle of the storm it doesn't look so bad, you keep thinking I will pull out of this and make it up next month, and next month never comes.

It's funny because I remember being in "that whole" every month, just trying to survive. Everyime I'd make a payment, I'd have to charge food and gas just to get by during the month.

Now, it feels good to go grocery shopping and use my DEBIT card or write a check. <gasp>

Lately we've been using using our BP/Amoco card to buy food because all of the other cards are full. Do you know how bad it is to have to eat gas station food?!?! It's all crap!!!

I wish this thing could be done and over and then I want to be forbidden from ever getting credit again. Can't a judge order that I never get credit again and put that on my record so credit card companies will stop giving me the offers? My wife was worried about getting credit after the bankruptcy. I told her, "That's what got us into all of this trouble in the first place!"

We need to start living within our means from this point forward.

I had around 11 cards and one vendor with approximately $72,000 that I am asking to discharge through bankruptcy.

Forgot to add close to 3k in medical bills.

But we will ALWAYS have med bills, so I honestly don't count them.

Nope. I owe about that much on a single car that I plan on turning in.

I have a bunch of old debt that is past the statute of limitations. It will take me a while to research it all. Some banks have bought out other banks. I had a car repo'd in 1994 and a few months ago some collection agency called about it. They were representing another bank that I have never done business with. I told them they had the wrong person. They told me the new bank. I called the bank and the bank told me they bought out some other company and then the debts were transferred. I had close to $100k alone in old debts that are 4 to 15 years old. I don't want them coming back. Since I am the one who started this thread, I want to get a good size list to post on here to compare the way other people were nice enough to post their list.
