    Discharged!!!

Just checked Pacer after work and it says under history: 10/8...Order for Discharge of Debtor! Is this it? My 60 days was over on Oct. 6...so it only took 2 days for the discharge order. Can't tell everyone how happy my wife and I are!

My paranoid self of course has to ask 2 questions to those with experience:

    1. Can anything happen while closing the case?

    2. Several of my debts were written off by the original creditors and bought by collection agencies...some I didn't know the name of. My lawyer told me the amount owed and the name of the creditors didn't matter back when I filed. She told us that every debt allowable by law will be discharged if they were there when we filed...PERIOD. Is this true? What if a creditor said that they w ere never notified of the bankrutpcy?

Congrats on the discharge! It's a great feeling, isn't it?

As for your questions, here goes:

It's unlikely that anything will occur during the period between discharge and closing (which should be short). However, it depends on the particulars of your case. Were you a Ch7 No Asset? If so, nothing should pop up and rear its nasty head before closing...but I know well that feeling of not really being able to breathe a sigh of relief until you see that closure date.

As for your creditors, if you were a Ch7 No Asset, my understanding is that whether they were listed or not, all of your past debts are now discharged, period. Doesn't apply if you were an asset case, so check with your lawyer about the particulars of how that works.

          Again, a big congrats!
