    Pacer

I had my 341 pro se. Mine was the quickest interview of the 30 or so I witnessed. Trustee just asked the standard questions, handed me tax returns back and said I was done.

I really don't know what to expect now - can Pacer help me; what exactly is Pacer?

    Thanks.

Now you just wait...60 days goes by a little slow, but it'll come. Pacer might be helpful for you as a pro se filer, but there is a cost per page (8 cents), so unless you want to pay a bill for looking at your file constantly, you might just want to rely on being notified by mail. I didn't sign up for Pacer until it was time for our discharge.

Oh, and Pacer is just the online record of the federal court systems (both district and bankruptcy). There are already several excellent threads regarding Pacer which were very helpful when I finally signed up for it.

Rntuqt, yes, PACER will help you. You don't have to wait for mailings to learn of new filings in your case. Also, post-341, the trustee will post a "Determination of No Assets" which is your sign that he is completely satisfied, but that doesn't get mailed to you. It's just a text entry in PACER, so PACER's the only way you would see it.

There are stickys on PACER on this board, be sure to look them over! Also, while it is true that there is an $0.08 per page charge to view filings, there are ways to minimize these, such as downloading each filing to your hard drive so you don't have to pay to see it again, and checking the last filing date when you first log into PACER: that's free to see, and if your last filing date hasn't changed since the last time you looked, there's nothing new to see and no need to pay anything. Also, you don't get billed until you have racked up at least $10 in fees in a given quarter, which, if you use it strategically, you may never even hit.

PACER access is free at many courthouses, so if you're averse to signing up for it yourself, you may still be able to go down to your federal courthouse and use it anyway, for free. Copies are $0.50 a page, though, so don't expect to get prints there unless you have the $$$ for it.

As a por se filer myself, I found PACER indispensible for tracking my bk and just for peace of mind. I strongly recommend it. Good luck!!!
Nolo Press book on filing Chapter 7, there are others too. (I have no affiliation with Nolo Press; just a happy customer.) Best wishes to you!

I'm a pacerholic. That's right. My bill is... well, we won't go there! But, it's very useful. I've researched many cases, as I'm a Chapter 13 with significant assets.

Well, that's all I wanted to write.

Thanks, I got into Pacer and quoted the following which seems to be good news - right? So far a breeze thanks to NOLO!

"Trustees Report of No Distribution: Trustee of this estate reports and certifies that the trustee has performed the duties required of a trustee under 11 U.S.C. 704 and has concluded that there are no assets to administer for the benefit of creditors of this estate. I have received no funds or property of the estate, and paid no monies on account of the estate. Wherefore, the trustee prays that this report be approved and the trustee be discharged from office"
