    Reaffirm and cosign? Auto impact??

I am filing Ch7 individiaully (even though married) and I plan on reaffirming my mortgage as well as a car loan. The mortgage is in my name only. Paperwork from the lender is in the mail. Fine.

Car loan is with Chase Auto Finance and my wife is the co-signor. Lets assume that they send me the paperwork, but I decide not to sign it. Does it matter? Meaning, even if I flew off to the moon, can;t they demand my wife make the monthly payments? I believe the answer is yes.

If yes, they why should I bother reaffirming?

Note that when I called Chase Auto to rewuest the reqffirmation paperwork, they did not have a listing of the case yet, which they do now.

    Comments? Thanks.

If you can do a ridethrough, why reaffirm anything?
Yes, a cosigner is still on the hook.

I totally agree with Keepmine...reaffirming offers almost no benefit to the debtors, so don't reaffirm if you don't have to (in most states you are protected by state laws anyways...meaning as long as you keep current they can't repo your car regardless if you sign a reaffirm).

We also have Chase Auto Finance and are not reaffirming the vehicle
