Wamu now Chase...How to list on Schedule F??

Hello, all. I have one question that I wanted to ask. With WAMU now being Chase. I have 2 credit card accounts with WAMU, that I will be including in my Chapter 7 bankruptcy case. I am handling my case Pro Se, but I was wondering
since they are going to be called WAMU from sometime more, I am wondering how to list them on Schedule F? Since Chase owns WAMU now, but they are keeping the name for awhile?
Should I list them as WAMU or Chase? I will be filing for Chapter 7 on November 3, 2008.
Just wondering what I should do, since the WAMU name might be remaining for awhile, while Chase is taken over WAMU??
Thanks for any help that you can provide..

Melissa, WaMu would be the first and best choice, since that was their name when you signed up and for the majority of the time you did business with them. However, "WaMu (Chase)" or "WaMu/Chase" would also be acceptable, since you include your acct numbers (or a redacted version of them) on Schedule F and they could verify it against your statements if necessary (very unlikely). Either way, the trustee will know what company you are talking about; they see WaMu accounts every day, and Chase too.

But actually, the bigger issue is getting it right on the creditor matrix. Use any version of the name you like, but be sure you list the most current address they would like to receive bankruptcy notices at -- call and find out before you file. That might change soon, depending on how quickly Chase intends to move on the practical details of the acquisition.

    Hope this helps.

Nolo Press book on filing Chapter 7, there are others too. (I have no affiliation with Nolo Press; just a happy customer.) Best wishes to you!

As Daisy mentioned just list it as WAMU, and as the creditor's address the one that was the WAMU correspondence address. Eventually they'll get their s..t together.
