    Giving Jewelry back to Store.

Sorry folks, this is the first time in my life that I have ever been in this situation, I have always paid my debts and always managed but this is a different world we live in at present and I know that I am not the only one in this situation.
I bought about $8000.00 in Jewelery, was making payments on a regular basis until I had to stop as everything crashed, then the calls started and I told them that I would give them back their jewelery, they agreed to accepting the jewelery as same was secured but would not accept the three watches that were purchased with the jewelery, telling me that I had to pay for them, I told them either take them back or forget about them or meet me in Court.
    Ideas, Thoughts or Opinions welcome.

Ps All Diamond gold rings and Gold chains were taken back but they refused to take the watches.

What was the store's explanation for refusing the watches?

I hope that you got something in writing saying that the jewerly that was bought back went to the balance that you owed them? What wouldn't they take the watches back?

Unless you're filing Bankruptcy, you'll just have to wait for them to "move" on the money you owe them. I would venture to guess that most Retail stores wouldn't know what to do if you "returned" merchandise (after the return period).

If you did take them back, did you get a receipt or something?

And I would have left all the jewelry. I don't think they can pick and choose what they want.

          When are you filing BK?

I just looked at all of your posts and I don't see where you talk about filing. if you think you can fight off these creditors you are in for a long stressful Battle you are not going to win.
are you fileing? as cali asked sounds like you need to.
if you are filing you can do a redemption on the jewelery I jsut did that. I paid next to nothing for some of the stuff. and if it's the same store begins with a K they keep very poor records. I hoe you have receipt if you are filing and have a lawyer he/she will do that for you.
            good luck

Jewelry devalues very much. If it had been me, I would have taken a picture of all items and please answer the question, did you get a receipt for what you returned? If no receipt they may just have doubled their profit as they won’t go away unless you bk. ‘Hub

Read the paperwork you signed on the credit agreement you took out on the jewelry. There should be information/clauses in there about what happens if you stop payment as to your purchase, especially if it is jewelry and secured by something in that agreement. When one cannot make payments on any account, it's always best to go back to the original paperwork you initially signed when you took out the loan or the credit card and read what they can or cannot do when you cannot make payments on that item (car, jewelry, etc.) or your account in general.

I paid pennies on the dollar with the redemption. But they wanted to repo 2 watches I bought and returned. I had to prove that returned them
