Maybe this is a silly question, but what is the point of this? Can they tell what is in your account that day or will they require proof? There isn't anything in mine anyway after paying bills, but I'm just curious.Retained my attorney 09.27.08

Since you must have overlooked my post, they can tell because they can ask for proof. You have to either provide an ATM receipt from the day you filed or the bank statement.

One common mistake is writing checks to pay bills and feeling like the money is spent. But the checks take time to clear your account and the money sits in your account waiting. It's far better to go get a Money Order so the money is pulled out of your account immediately than risk waiting for a check to clear.
Any money in your account that isn't listed as exempt on your petition is fair game for the Trustee to take -- even if you already wrote checks against those funds.Discharged November 2008 100 days after filing no-asset Chapter 7. We intended to let a two-year-old vehicle go back to the bank and reaffirm an inexpensive ten-year-old SUV and our home mortgage. In the end we surrendered ALL of our vehicles and reaffirmed NOTHING. We'll "ride through" our mortgage after the court ruled it an undue hardship.

Very unlikely he would question that.Filed Ch 7 -- July 9, 2008
