    Hello Question about necessities.

Me and my wife went to speak to an attorney this week who said we have a pretty simple chapter 7 case. He explained to us what to do and what not to do. He said don't buy any big items or anything beyond necessities( we wouldn't/couldn't even if we wanted too) My question is our baby is due in about 20 days and we needed some supplies. We spent about 300$ for baby stuff. Did i mistake in buying this stuff right now or am I over thinking it? Also this was not bought on credit it was paid for with debit. Thanks im really glad i found this board its given me a lot of information.

I wouldn't think buying things you will need to take care of a baby would be a problem at all.

    Congrats!

i agree - babies need all kinds of stuff - it isn't your fault that it's usually fun to shop for, cute, and not cheap! :P

keep your receipts, and keep your shopping to the easy-to-prove necessities. no $100 teddy bears, lol.

congrats on the baby and good luck with your case!

Thanks! yeah we are definitely keeping our receipts, The majority of our expenses today were for the breast pump. We shouldn't need anything else for at least a few months. Thanks again eased my mind a bit.
