    almost there

Well haven't been around for awhile, but I had to drop in and let everyone know our paperwork is going out in the morning and the paralegal said we should be able to file a week for Monday! I am so nervous, but then I know everyone is right before. I got all our paperwork back together, second time doing this, we should have filed in June. Finally calls started again and since I don't even want to deal with that, it's time. No more dragging my feet, time to get this over with. Our credit score is horrible now. Went from the high 7's to the middle 5's. Nothing that surprised me, but it's still hard to see in print.

DH job cut hours AGAIN! So now living within our means is not the adjustment it was before, this is the third time in the last 4 yrs we have done this, that helped rack this debt we have up. Now not paying cc is going to keep us from sinking in debt again. Fortunately he has a huge amount of vacation and can dip into it to keep his 40 hr checks. They are telling them is shouldn't be more then a few weeks, but who really knows. I have finally had some work again and it's been a blessing, I think we will be fine.

Sept is a hard month, plates and insurance on cars, and my youngest son's Bday! but I came up with a solution, GARAGE SALE TIME! So I guess I am feeling kind of like we will be fine. There is life after cc. Before on a month like this out would have come the cc, now that's not an option and frankly I like it!

Well I just wanted to drop by and fill in all those wonderful BK friends what has been going on. Not only has life been hectic, but our lap top is broke again! LOL So I kicked the kids off tonight to spend sometime on the computer.

Thanks everyone for all your support and wish us luck, the time is almost here and I know we are far from done but we are finally getting closer!

justplaintired - it is good to see you posting. Sorry to hear about your hubby's cut in hours, but glad to see you are working. I have no doubt you will make it through this brilliantly.

What day is your son's bday? Mine is this month too.

His bday is the 16th. He'll be 12.

Thanks for the nice thoughts and once we are filed I am sure I'll feel much better. Just nerves is all.

              Hey there!

Back when my kids were little, we didn't even have credit cards. And we would have garage sales about twice a year to help with bills. We also bought a lot of our furniture at others' garage sales! When we had a really tough week and needed some cash for groceries or to get us by a few days till payday, we would call our local radio station (small town), which had a call-in garage sale (free). Once we sold our vaccum cleaner for $20. Another time a stand up fan for $15. But we got by... I wish they still had that kind of program.

Got our first credit card when my son was about 10.

But credit cards are not the reason we are in BK.
