Hey guys!

I got married 7/26/08 & was wondering how my Ch 7 will effect the marriage...?? will it go to him now too because we are married or will it just be me??? I hope it doesn't mess with his credit---Concerned

When did you file? If it was before you got married, it shouldn't show up on his credit and if it does, he should dispute it and have it removed. even if after you are married, if you filed by yourself and none of your accounts have co-mingled (he's not an authorized user on your credit card, etc) it still shouldn't show up on his report and if it does by mistake, he can dispute it. It's a hassle, and hopefully one you won't have to deal with, but he should check periodically just to be sure.

I filed around march 15th 08 and had 341 4/4/08-then discharged 6/08. we got married 7/26/08. so it was all done BEFORE we got married. so i hope it wont effect him, lucky him he is so annoyling good with money and debt he has a really great score, and I dont want to mess with it.

Ya he knew before we were even engaged so that helped. I would be so nervous to tell. Like I did something bad But I guess it all worked out ok.

I told my fiance before we were engaged too. It was the only secret I had left to him, and it started with my crying hysterically about my horrible secret and ended with him kissing me and taking me to iHop for chocolate milk.

I felt like an idiot because I suck at money, and he he makes his living investing it. He will obviously be in charge of the bank accounts haha

That Chapter 7 will only show on your report, not his. The only drawback will be if you apply for something jointly and they pull both of your reports.
