Forgot to List Accounts

How big a deal is it if I forgot to list a few accounts that I didn't owe anything on? I didn't list sears, macy's - store cards that I hadn't used in a long time and forgot about.

Just wondering because Sears asked for notice of my bk which seems strange to me since I didn't owe them anything and they are not on my petition.

If they had a balance of 0 it is not an issue. Otherwise just amend the forms and it'll be fine. Keep in mind even if 0 balance and not listed that it is unlikely they'll survive the bankruptcy process and remain open, a few sometimes do but its not the normal.

Sears is one of those cards that will cancel you even if you have a 0/zero balance with them if/when they find out that you filed. Their take - you screwed others, we might be next.

An agency representing Sam's Club asked to be notified of anything going on in our case. We said "What the hey?" We hadn't been in a Sam's Club in years and had not renewed membership since 2004.

We thought that it might have been automatically renewed every year since, but that would be odd, since we had never gotten any statements. So in calling Sam's Club and this agency, we found out that there was a line of credit on the card--but it had never been used. And that there had been no activity at all since early 2004. So the agency requested that they be removed from our creditor matrix, and they were.

Now, though, we are getting all kinds of Sam's Club emails..........
