Couple of weeks ago, we got a "victim's impact statement" questionnaire from the parole board in another state, asking us to detail for the court the impact that being carjacked has had on our lives, so that they could take that into consideration in sentencing. There it was on the outside of a gigantic envelope, big as life: "XXXXXX County Board of Parole, Criminal Court, City, State, Zip".
<sigh...> And of course, I'm such a mess that I felt compelled to "happen" to be running to the mailbox with the response just as the mailman drove by, so I could tell him that WE were the victims.
