    I'm so mad right now!

I met with my attorney Tuesday, signed the paperwork and pointed out 3 mistakes he had. One was an address fix, zip code and apt# were wrong. Second was the date of foreclosure of a property I owned, it happened in 2007 but he had 2008. Third was the incorrect name of a person who I have a claim against who screwed me, he has the wrong first name. I pointed these things out to him and he said he'd change them before submitting them. I got the email from him with my case number and copy of the documents, but he did NOT make those changes. I emailed him asking him about this. But what are the real problems that could arise from these mistakes??? Can they be corrected and re-submitted? I'm sooo mad right now! I've been going through a nightmare for the last 3 years and I thought I was making progress, but it seems I'm not when something like this happens.

It's only something like $28 to amend your petition.

I would give the attorney a call ask him to ammend the petition to to make the changes. If he tries to charge you more than the filing fee for the amendment I would point out that you showed him the mistakes before you filed.

    Discharged: 03/05/2007
Closed: 5/19/2008 - Asset case due to balance transfer and income tax refund

The biggest of the three errors would be the wrong date on the foreclosed property making it appear that you owned that property in the same year you filed, when in fact you did not. I agree with JollyGG and call the attorney and INSIST they be fixed and for FREE. If they aren't by the time you meet with the trustee at your 341, when you are asked if everything in your petition is correct, pipe up and say "No they are not. I pointed out the errors to the attorney, and he did not fix them."

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the advice. My attorney just got back to me and said he did fix them but there was some type of glitch with the clerk and he actually took care of it before he even got my email. I've asked him to forward me a copy of the corrected version.

Do you have a PACER account set up so that you can see your paperwork online?

I don't have a pacer account, but have just looked into it. I didn't know what pacer was til now. Even if he filed it today, will it be posted on pacer that fast?

Attorneys have a special account that they use to file their clients' cases with the court. Yes, your case could show up today. Typically PACER is updated once a day usually in the evening but paperwork can be filed at any time. Yesterday, we looked at our case around 9 AM and there had been no changes. Then we looked again at 10 AM and there our DISCHARGE order was.
