What NOT to do after 341??

I've been lurking a while, and tried searching for the answer but I couldn't find anything.

I filed my BK in June, my 341 meeting was July 22. Can the trustee request bank statements from AFTER the 341 meeting? Can they request ANYTHING after that? I got my stimulus check late (after 341) and wanted to pay off my truck ($1K), but if I do that I would be over the limit on assets (I didn't own a home).

I guess I'm just confused by this magic discharge date, I was under the assumption that the 341 meeting was the magic date....

    Thanks!

it's a tough one. can't just sit on the check like it doesn't exist for a little while? :P

my gut says you're good to go; should be able to cash that check and use it for non-luxury, life-necessary stuff. everything i've read says that anything you have up to the date you file is what they have to work with. you got your stim check post 341, and it's already a debated issue as to whether or not trustees can take it (i plan to become case law for my district if my trustee starts that fight with me)....

but ultimately you have to do what your gut tells you. if it was me, i'd squat on the check for awhile. but if i absolutely needed the funds for something, i'd use the money like the president told me to .
