    Just Curious about Mailing Matrix

Our local BK rules require us to put our creditors names and addresses in a text document on a floppy disk called "Creditor's Matrix". Is that true is most states, or is this just some thingo for Colorado?

In CA they only make you do it if you have more than/equal to 100 creditors.
Not only am I not a lawyer, the California BAR association has sent me numerous letters telling me not to even THINK about going to law school. In fact, the lay advice I provide is not even good. In the end remember, you get what you pay for, and here in BK land were not the best at paying.

Here in Texas, it just looks like they need a printed list...just with certain specs like one inch margins and stuff.

We didn't have to give a disk, we just had to provide a list of ALL our creditors. The attorney compiled the list and submitted it.

From what Tabby says, it looks like Texas wants a list that can go onto the bed of a copying machine with label stock loaded in it.

I think only Colorado and Guam require the floppy disk.

Debster, that instruction is included in the published rules for the Middle District of Florida as well, but when I asked the clerk they said they don't require it anymore at all. If you make one for them, that's mighty nice of you, but won't make a difference one way or another. Hope this helps.
Nolo Press book on filing Chapter 7, there are others too. (I have no affiliation with Nolo Press; just a happy customer.) Best wishes to you!

I so shocked to see this floppy requirement in the Alaska local rules. I actually dug up a floppy disk from work in our office supplies closet, literally had to blow the dust off of it..... Then came the task of finding a computer that still has a floppy drive...

Then when I turned in my papework to the clerk at filing, I proudly handed her the floppy and she said, ohhhh,,, we don't really need those, we have scanning software that works better....
