Filed BK in 2002 may have to refile soon...

I was an idiot when I gained the right to be issued a credit card, and filed when I was 20. For 6 years I was extremely good with my money until I bought a house with my sister... Everything has gone down the tubes puting things into the house.

My question is, am I subjected to the 2005 law that I must wait 8 years before refiling, or the laws that pertained to my bankruptcy when it was filed (6 years). Now I assume that I would have to wait 8 years after filing a second time, and I understand it's much harder to do so now.

I'm doing everything in my power to avoid this. I worked so hard to get my credit where it was and to have it fall apart so quickly in embarssing and unethical, but it may very well be my only hope.

    Thank you in advance,

I would think you would be under the law you filed under.

It's 8 years between Chapter 7 filings. There is no grandfathering provision in the bk reform legislation.
