Means test scared me for awhile today

My attorney presented me with all the schedules to review today and told me we were on the fence for Chapter 7(after he short filed). We knew we were over on income, and felt pretty sure about passing the second part. It was way too close when he presented us the Means results......

What i found while looking through things is he failed to properly state our health insurance amount by 50.00 and did not include our Flexible Medical Account. We pay 180.00 monthly into it. That makes a huge difference in the final results.

I'm Type 1 insulin dependent diabetic and my wife is epileptic and just lost her driving freedom. We're a fine pair. Our medical stuff just eats us up.

Lesson learned.......ALWAYS review every piece of paper twice. That error could have changed the course of everything...

Excellent point, Shark. I am SOOOO glad you educated yourself about it to the point where you could actually spot the omission and know it could make a difference -- kudos to you for studying up!!! Too many people simply rely on what they are told... as you learned, it pays big to study it yourself and to review each and every form, as you said.
