New Job during BK

We are very close to discharge, (I hope). DH was out of work for 6 months and landed a great job (finally). A job that puts us way over the median. He is due to get his first and second check prior to discharge. Are we in danger of being converted to a 13 because he landed this job? There was no way to hold out till we were discharged as this was a once in a lifetime job.

congrats on the new job! This is one of those situations where if you were already declared a no asset and are awaiting discharge - I'd ride it through to the end without saying anything to anybody.

You should be fine as the job was gotten after the 341 even if the first paycheck occurs before discharge.

Will it make any difference if we are an asset? We have a laughable asset (property)we turned over to the trustee. Do we need to keep quiet until after our BK is closed since we are an asset case? Is it safe to deposit the checks into our checking account or should we just cash them? He got the job around a month after our 341. I am just worried. My brain keeps telling me that the trustee is probably overworked and if I just keep quiet I will be fine. STRESS!!

Since the job was gotten after and not before the 341, you should be fine.

I got a new job a few weeks before our 341 but I told them I couldn't start until a few weeks after our 341. No one asked and I didn't tell. Also, I asked how long it took to check references and what not, so technically I didn't have a job yet. Congrats on the new job! What a relief!
