Zero Balance Amex - Chapter 7

I've got 2 Amex cards with Zero Balance that I would like to keep since they have high credit lines for emergency purposes.

Has anyone had experience with Amex? Specifically, if I don't include them in the BK Chapter 7 filing will they find out about my BK when they run my credit report (I know they do this randomly), and close my account?

    Thanks

If you file bankruptcy, as long as these cards have zero balances on the day you file then you do not have to include them. However, as soon as AmEx finds out you filed (and they will find out because the big cc card companies share information plus it will show up on your credit report) be prepared to have both cards cancelled.

AmEx is notoriously unfriendly to bankruptcy filers. Once you file, 99.9% you'll never get another AmEx card again, ever.

However, you have nothing to lose. Keep the cards at zero, don't list them when you file, and hope for the best. Just don't depend on the cards being there after filing.
