Can I keep my home with a Ch. 7?

I'm still on the fence with filing but if I'm doing it then I want Ch. 7. What are the guidelines to keeping my home? I should add that we've lost equity with this economy, so I'm lucky if I even have 20% in it right now.

Is the equity below what your states exempts and, are you current on the mortgage. Those are the 2 big questions.

How do I find out what my state exempts are for mortgages? Yes - I am current on both 1st and 2nd mortgages.

Try this site: http://www.legalconsumer.com -- lots of good info. You type in your zip code and it tells you everything about filing bk in your region. It's got a good means test calculator as well. (Note: I have no affiliation, just a happy customer. )
