Does the UST have 30 days to object?

I'm on day 27 and thought I read somewhere that the UST had 30 days to object. Is that true or do they have the entire 60 days? So far I haven't heard anything and I'm just getting anxious. Thanks.

I could be wrong but I thought they had 10 days to file a presumption of abuse (at least that is what I have seen on Pacer on the some of the above-median cases in my district)

The UST can object to a discharge up until the end...i.e., the full 60 days. The 10 day Statement of Presumed Abuse which is typically filed in high income cases, is generally filed within 10 days after the 341 meeting.

It doesn't matter that you didn't receive this since the UST can still object to your discharge....BUT the longer your progress along the 60 day path without hearing from the UST, typically the better off you are...

      Good luck,

Thank you. Only 33 more days to go. If I don't have a heart attack or nervous breakdown before the discharge, I might be okay.

          I'm right behind ya, southern.

I haven't heard boo from my trustee and don't think I will. (at least I hope not! She was very nice!!)

If you have 33 days, I have 40....gosh that sounds like a long time from now!!

I hear ya Stilltheone. I didn't think I'd make it this far. The local trustee was really professional and very thorough, but extremely nice at the 341. I've been answering her quickly if she asks for anything and just mailed my stimulus check off today unopened. I'm an asset case so I don't expect to hear from her again until she contacts me to collect the equipment.

It's the UST I'm concerned about. I know no news is good news and since most of my debt is business debt, it's a bit more complicated to convert or dismiss my case, but I still worry about some little thing that might come up. At least my 2nd job keeps me occupied so that I don't dwell too much on it.

Well. I filed pro se and made several mistakes that were going to cost me a lot of money so I hired an attorney and he ammended everything, almost. He then said the trustee has 30 days to object to the ammendments. Don;t know if this is different from the posts question but though I'd add it in case is relevant.
