My daughter has been accepted to a major university. I receive social security disability benefits and I work part-time. My wife works full-time. Is there a special grant or scholarship that will assist my daughter with his tuition with one disable parent? And if I need some financial help, are there any government educational grant or something like that available and how to get it? Would you like to help me please? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much in advance.

Your daughter's school can advise her of all sorts of grants and scholarships that might be available to her. All she or you do is have to ask their financial aid department and advise them of the family's financial situation. They can direct you to the appropriate forms and what to do - most of which can be done online. Best of luck to your family..._________________________________________

The very first thing she needs to do is fill out the FAFSA. http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
This is what the school will use to determine if your daughter qualifies for any grants or student loans.
She also needs to seek her high school guidance councelor and ask for information about local scholarships. Most have a whole book of oportunitee's she can apply for. Next she needs to talk to the college she plans to attend and apply for any scholarships they recomend. Also have your wife check and see if her employer offers any scholarships for children of employee's. If she is in any sports, band, choir, art, or club they may also have scholarship information about money available to students with her specific interest.Last edited by JollyGG; 05-22-2008, 06:03 AM.Filed: 10/26/2006
