I didn't use one but others have. It is important not to meet with all the trustees of your area, if you approach them for consultation they can't act as trustee of your bk estate. I'm not sure where you can get a list.May 31st, 2007: Petition Filed by my lawyer

September 4th, 2007: Discharged and Closed.

I didn't use one either. I met with one, but I didn't like him very much. He didn't seem to have the time to meet with me and palmed me off on his asst. that didn't know very much. I was pretty disappointed, so I chose not to use him.
One advantage is they have insider information that other attys. don't. They will know first hand what your paperwork will need to have in it so that your case will go smoothly.
One disadvantage is every Trustee is different. In my district, we have 3 chapter 7 trustees and the one I have is the most thorough whereas the other two are very laid back.
Don't meet with all of the trustee/atty's in your area. You don't want to paint yourself into a corner.Filed Chapter 7 (Primarily Business Expenses) 04/10/2008 FICO 468

My whole thought was to find an attorney that could do their paper correctly and not forget stuff. He has missed some stuff. However, thanks to this board and reading people experiences I was able to cover to spot inaccuries.
