Here are community property states. Your filing will not affect her. It looks like your problem here might be your assets. I'm still unclear if you own that rural property outright.

Florida is not a community property state.

As for the original poster. The trustee can undo any transfer of real property in the last 9 months. So even if you transferred it to her he could switch it back to you. Hiding assets is a very bad idea.
