I'm fairly positive it means that you are under the median income, so you did not have have to fill out the means test. MEANS-NO.
The Debtor education is the AFTER filing requirement. The BEFORE filing is couseling, not education.

I think it means you passed the means test, according to your attorney anyways. I am over the median and mine says "meansno" also. On my site there is a utilities button at the top if you click on it theres a heading of Court flag definitions. Most are explained pretty good but for meansno it just says "no" and meansyes it says "yes". I know I passed it on filing anyways and it was there within a hour after we filed so theres no way anyone looked at it yet.

Yep, that's right. MEANSNO means you passed the means test, and DebtEdDue means that you still have to take the post-filing credit counseling (aka "debt ed") class. You have 45 days from the date of your 341 to get it done; I say do it as soon as you can and get it out of the way. You can do it online, and count on spending at least two hours on it. Good luck!!!

Dragonfly, just fyi, the MEANSNO (or MEANSYES ) and original asset designation (Asset or No Asset) are set by the clerk when your case is originally filed. You're right in thinking no one's probably looked at it yet. Those flags come straight from the boxes you checked on your forms and not from any analysis of your case; the trustee can change them if the circumstances warrant it... but you will definitely know it if that happens. For instance, if your case gets changed fro No Asset to Asset, you and your atty would both receive notification and be told why. But most don't get changed at all. Good luck!!!

Nolo Press book on filing Chapter 7, there are others too. (I have no affiliation with Nolo Press; just a happy customer.) Best wishes to you!
