Dollar Bill, just so you know... whatever you two said on the phone doesn't count for much. From here on out, it's all about what happens in writing. I understand you wanting to call, but honestly, if you have already (or are going to) fire him, a phone call is meaningless as far as getting your retainer back or substantiating any future Bar complaint, and probably just escalated the tension and made him dig his heels in further. You really are going to have to write that letter or simply walk away. Just so you know... if you keep calling you are only going to be met with the same frustration -- and more -- that caused you to fire him to begin with. Anyway, good luck!

I don't call often, and I didn't call for him. He jumped on the phone.
I walked into the office to pick up my paperwork, and the parallegal whom I never met was very pleasant. She said she would try to have him give me most all of my money.
Seemed as if they are always down this road with clients.
My retainer agreement is interesting. He told me he charges $250 an hour. The agreement emailed in WORD format said $350hr. I called the parallegal and she said "oh he must like you if he said $250. He does that from time to time. Just change it, print and sign.
I changed it, but today I noticed that I made a mistake. The area shows "2re50hr." I made a typo. He signed the agreement. So I have that with all of our signatures on it.
On the phone today he kept saying "I charge $300 an hr, I'm sorry."
This aught to be interesting.
