Reorted to chexsystems for account abuse

I filed my chapter 13 and converted to a 7 and was discharged. I am being reported to chexsystems as having 2 accounts that were IIB as account abuse. Is this legal, I think this is a "payback" for filing my BK on these accounts. Any way to get these removed.

I think you need to contact chexsystems or have your lawyer do so and make sure they know it was included in a bankruptcy. Hopefully that will take care of it.

If you listed and discharged a checking account with overdrafts or late fee debts still owed, then it's not surprising that you were reported to Chex Systems.

However, if you send a copy of your Ch 7 discharge papers to Chex, they will remove you from their black list. Several members here have been successful doing that in the last few months.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

Thanks for the information. Who or where do I send this information. Can I fax it to them. Both banks knew I was filing and did this anyway. How do I know if I am on any other watches or systems. Do these companies share information.

Did a quick online search - here's contact information for CHEX Systems I found at https://www.consumerdebit.com/consum...hexsystems.htm :

          Mail: Chex Systems, Inc.
          Attn: Consumer Relations
          7805 Hudson Road, Suite 100
          Woodbury, MN 55125
Phone: By phone at 800-428-9623 or fax at 602-659-2197

Hopefully one of our members who got off the CHEX blacklist recently will chime in here to tell you if this is where they mailed their discharge information.

            chex system disputes

I hired a credit repair company. Anyways, the credit repair company got the collection company removed from my chex system however the orginal lender wf who charged it off was changed to paid in full. I had two negative entries on chex systems the orginal lender and the collection hired a year later. If I am on the report is paid in full still considered a negative? I am thinking about disputing it again and stating it was included in my bankruptcy, however my bankruptcy was filed one month after the bank charged it off--dam. Any thoughts?

              no sharing

              Hi all,

              Do these companies share information.
Usually not, they are in competition with each other.

chexsystem used to think they were above the law, but remember they are covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Check the law out, there are some handy clauses requiring reporting agencies to fix errors.

Good luck, remember to use written letters and save copies.
