    Repo Laws

I have read that some state laws do not allow repo on cars unless you are behind on payments. Does anyone know of where I could find a list of states that fall into this category, if this is true? I've tried Googling but I am not having much luck.

I just read postings from a moderator on another board that seemed to indicate that there are no states that provide this protection, so I am a little confused.

I am going to call my attorney but I am a compulsive worrier

    Thanks

Good question and now you're making me wonder.

We just purchased a used vehicle in Nov 07, but it was a pretty high end vehicle. Our payment are $460/mo.

My lawyer didn't think it would be any big deal about keeping the car, as long as we signed reaffirment papers with the CU it's with.

But, now, I'm wondering if they can reposess anyways. It's my car and I can't be without a car. Can they reposess if you're current?

If you sign reaffirm papers then you are good to go. If you poke around on this board you'll see lots of members who have had difficult times dealing with CU's (seems like CU's are really forcing the issue with reaffirm agreements)

I wasn't planning on reaffirming on the advice of my lawyer, but I still want to verify what the ramifications might be if I don't. Like yourself, I need a car to get to work everyday
