Getting past the 341 is actually really easy. Getting past the UST is much more difficult. If you are over the median income, then things will be scrutinized more closely. Typically the 341 is handled by the local Chapter 7 trustee and that process is usually pretty painless. Try not to worry too much and good luck.

Not unless the US Trustee has a reason to be - it's actually quite rare to get any open interest from a US trustee and even more rare for one to appear at a 341.
The non-fraud cases that tend to catch a US trustee's interest are ones with income well above the median that file Ch 7 and also those with more than $100,000 of non-secured debt. And catching their interest doesn't mean they will do more than just examine your forms. They have to find something they question before you'll hear anything openly.

Good luck on your 341's guys. I hope when my time comes, the UST doesn't scrutinze me too much. I've got documentation for everything and hope they don't ask anything I'm not prepared for. (Fingers crossed) I'm filing tomorrow or at least I have an appt. to sign the papers tomorrow.

Good Luck to all of you...please let us know how things went. It is really good to hear another successful 341 is in the books. Mine is May1st...not too nervous yet!
Really you worry about it more than you should. But it's good going in there expecting it to suck, because if you do and it isn't that bad you're like "Oh why did I worry so much!?" You'll be fine! Good luck to you

In my opinion I would bring them as well. I saw many attorneys with many clients and they were fumbling through alot of folders when something was asked. Double whammy works good!

Discharge due 6/9/08
We were in front of the Trustee for no more than 5 minutes. He basically verified information on our filing. The major sticking point was how we ended up with 3 cars. I explained that we knew we were going to surrender one and purchased the third before we filed. He said 'that makes sense'. That was basically it!
THE BEST PART...
As we were getting up he turned to his assistant and told her that he 'wasn't going to keep this one open'. She wrote a big NO on the cover of the file folder containing our paper work.
Now we wait...
