Part time job

We should be filing Ch 7 in a couple of months. Assuming all goes well, and everything is discharged and closed, how soon after everything is discharged can my wife take on a part-time job? My wife is currently a stay-at-home Mom but will have an opportunity in Sept to begin working a part-time job

Would this income on your wife's part throw you over the median for your area? Will you be filing with an income that is already over the median? If either is true, I'd say wait for discharge, but if you're under the median either way you should be good after the 341, provided there are no other issues and you receive a determination of no assets from the trustee.

That's just my thought on it, and you may want to consult a local atty too, to see what's best in your particular area. Good luck!!!

We are already over the median with just my income, but our schedules show negative monthly disposable income and we pass the means test. I'm guessing waiting for the discharge would be safest
