I have a weird one....I have a couple of investment properties that are being foreclosed on. Anyways, my daughter tells me today that her aunt, my ex-husband's sister, received a call from someone named "Jan" regarding my property in Homestead, FL (my foreclosures are in Homestead). My ex-SIL explained that I was her brother's ex-wife, and she was told that I had supposedly listed her as a reference/contact person. Now here is the even weirder part, my ex-husband and I have been divorced for over 16 years now, and I have never ever ever used my ex-sister in law for any type of reference on anything ever, not recently, and not even when my ex and I were together....she was about 10 years old when we got divorced! In fact, my ex-SIL just moved to a new home about 3 months or so ago, and has a new number so how they got her number is beyond me! I don't even have my ex's last name as I have remarried -2X - since he and I divorced! Talk about weird! For the life of me, I do not know how they could have gotten her number!

HHM, I understand that some people don't care....I envy them. And I get the big (bigger) picture. But having collection agencies call relatives is a bigger deal to some of us than to others.
In fact, it is a very big deal. Would that it weren't but it is what it is.

She rolled the dice and lost...get a helmet.
I hear ya about living with the consequences. Do you know where I can get one of those helmets in pink?

HHM you are obviously uptight and having a bad day!
Yes, they were real estate investments that went bad -I am sure I am not the only person w/this problem as a result of the crappy r/e market. Partially because of this, I am in the hole big time and will have to file bk. So yes, I do give a "f" who they call and am curious as to how they came about her number cuz I don't want every Tom, Dick, Nancy, Jane, and Harry that I have ever known or been associated with to be called re: my business!
HHM go drink a glass of wine and chill the "f" out!Last edited by Liz; 04-01-2008, 09:37 AM.
