We haven't paid on our Saab since Dec; are surrendering it because it's broken and the cost to fix it is more than the car is worth and we just can't afford it (we'd LOVE to, we love the car, but we've already sunk $3K into in one year, and this would be another $6k for a new engine and the car is worth less than $5k at this point if it was in good condition).
We keep waiting for the repo company to come get it; figuring it will be gone someday when I get home (it's just sitting in our driveway, has been for over 3m).
I get home today to a door tag saying they stopped by and want to talk to us. Ummm, why not just take the car? I guess I should be happy that they really seem to want to "help". But My other thought is, it's pretty obvious that the car is broken, it's under snow (mostly) and the headlight is busted and the wipers are sitting on the hood. (Headlight courtesy of an icy driveway and my truck, lol -- wipers we transferred to a new car).
Is it possible they won't want it because it's broken? We owe about $4500 on it, just took the loan last May. We would call and arrange a place to drop it but it doesn't run and we can't afford to tow it anywhere so we keep waiting for them to come get it.
Any ideas?
Edited to add, we haven't actually filed yet; which is part of why we don't want to call the bank yet:
